Ballet West will offer a lively array of events in its 2024-25 season, including four Utah premieres.

Following the Halloween tradition of the company’s popular Dracula, Ballet West will open the season October 25 with the local debut of Jekyll & Hyde. Based upon the celebrated Robert Louis Stevenson story, Jekyll & Hyde is choreographed by Val Caniparoli, with music of Chopin, Penderecki and Górecki.

Pictures at an Exhibition will follow November 8-16 in another local premiere of Alexi Ratmansky’s production with music by Mussorgsky. The mixed program will also include George Balanchine’s classic Serenade and another local debut with Christopher Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour.

Willam Christensen’s celebrated Nutcracker will mark its 80th anniversary, running Dec. 6-28.

Cinderella opens 2025 with Frederick Ashton’s choreography and Prokofiev’s music Feb. 7-15. The season will present a Stravinsky spectacular (April 4-12) with The Rite of Spring (Nicolo Fonte), Symphony of Psalms (Jiří Kylián) and Apollo (Balanchine).

There will also be a Ballet West II family production of Aladdin March 28-29, and “Works from Within,” a show of world premieres, choreographed by Ballet West dancers May 14-17.
